In which Rachel remembers she has a blog... yet again

The old title of "While You Were Out" still applies, but I actually say, well type, note to self quite often. And as blogs should really be for yourself and not others (unless you're internet famous it seems), "Note to Self:" seems to fit better.

When last we left our hero...heroine... whatever

It was freaking 2005?! (I wish I knew the unicode for interobang) Yes, 2005 and a few weeks before PAX. Ahhh the days when half my life didn't revolve around PAX. In the time since it has. Depending on the time of year it ranges from half PAX, half life to about a 1/4 PAX, 1/4 work and 1/2 school. Yes! I finally started school. It's kind of kicking my ass, but that's because I let it mostly. Also in those years between the last post and this... let's see. TJ and I split, Matt and I got and split (about 6 months ago. You should be really glad that I didn't bother to rekindle this blog then), I became an area manager for PAX (HH represent! someone has to) and that whole school thing.

What else? Xandre is nearly done with college. Caio is studying in Japan. Kaije is becoming a firefighter. Nick is back in school and helped open a game shop. Victor graduated from Penn State. Nathaniel is always in school it seems and keeps adding new hats to his life. All 3 kidlets are school age now! Dad moved to Reno for work (boo hiss). Mom is still married to Max and still sick and only sort of in remission. Nona and I actually hang out sometimes. Insert other family stuff as well.

So yeah. In 2006 I moved back to Seattle, got a job working at Kits Camera in the mall and worked on getting myself an apartment. Being an adult is crazy times. I worked there for about 2 years and then got fired for a really asinine reason. I got depressed, got cheated on, and then finally got a job at the movie theater that was about to open while working on starting school. Since then we've (Matt and I) moved from the apartment to a house with 3 other people and I'm still at the theater. Sidenote: finding room mates can be hard! Even when you know them! Right now in the house it's me, Matt, Mateo and Jen, and Lyta. (she replaced Jaiden when he moved out)

Oh! And I've been a red-head for about 6 months and like it a bunch. Sometimes I miss being blonde but you sure as hell don't blend in as much as a redhead. Enough people think it's my natural coloring too, which is nice. Originally, I was just going to do it for the summer. To be honest, it was sort of a mourning dye job. Rather that than shaving my head sort of thing. But uhhh yeah, short and red. Good times.

Current goings on: We have people over waaaaaay too often lately. It was agreed that we wouldn't have anything more than once a month. The last few months have been at least 2-3 shindigs per. I'm tired of the clean up and the constant house guests and having to be the bitch that makes everyone leave at 2am because she works weekends. This quarter I'm taking ASL 2, Physics and Intro to Singing. Physics is already kicking my butt and Singing seems to be a lot more work than 2 credits worth. ASL is still fun because Billy is a great teacher and most of my classmates are cool. I'm also doing work study at Northgate Elementary as a teacher's aid basically. I work in a 1st/2nd grade room with about 20 kids. So far it's pretty great, even when they challenge my last bit of sanity.

These days I use YouTube as my radio and have started subscribing to channels even. I kind of use them as daily pick-me-ups. I also finally gave in to Twitter and Facebook. I know, I know. I said NOWAI!!!111oneeleventy for a loooooong time. But I am continually remind in life to "never say never".

I can't tell at a glance whether or not I ever did backlog my LJ posts here. Do I actually care? Not sure. If I know myself at all, I'll probably forget because it's not important and leave this to dust for months on end again.

Good talk... *hugs it out*

Oh, hello there.

Thanks to John Allison for reminding me I even had a blogspot. It's like rummaging through your closest and finding a book report from the 4th grade.

Someone remind me to figure out how to link stuff here again and i shall link Mr. Allison's blog and loverly comic.

Backlogging to commence soon. Not that i've even done much in LJ. Just more than here.

Ya know...

I should maybe try to use pictures more often around here. It isn't like LJ where you see an icon every post.

Oh Bother

Ummmm political stuff. I'm tired of thinking and talking about it right now. A big election, my first time voting, and I feel quite lack-luster about it all. Like getting a B+ on something too easy not to get an A on.

Anywho. I finally delved into the clove flavored gum and it's almost like chewing gingerbread. Well, until you get to the end of the flavor. It's almost rank now. This is why for the most part I chew winterfresh or bubble gum. The flavor lasts longer and bubbles are just fun. Especially on the bus when you know you're annoying the smelly person next to you. I'm sure i'm missing a comma or two in the past couple sentences. Which reminds me. I had a hard time figuring out 19x4 the other day. How sad is that? Granted, i've never been that mathmatically endowed, but I'm pretty sure I felt my brain shrink when I grabbed some paper and a pen do work that problem out.

Getting back to feeling lack-luster. My Halloween was thoroughly dull. Disappointing. Almost sad. I didn't even see any kids in costumes. Maybe it was just in my area but it seemed like the holiday had just been forgotten. An afterthought for the day. All the pumpkins were gone from the storefronts. Christmas banners were hung inside and all candy was 60% off. I think the thing that really got me down was that It's the Great Pumpkin Charie Brown wasn't on TV.

It's a sad holiday when a Peanuts special doesn't get played.

blah blah blah blah

I'd like to see all canidates for whatever go back to highschool and join the debate team. Or forensics team , depending on where you're from. The local debates are closer to what I would consider an actual debate, but still far off. I may be the far off person though. I only had friends in the debate team, I wasn't personally. But I was around plenty tournaments and practices, etc.

Anyway, what I really wanted to get at was that gubernatorial is fun to say and type and that, yes, I and a giant tree-hugger and am going to mildly assume that neither presidential canidate gives a whole hoot about the environment. (long ass sentence whee) I also learned a lesson most couples find out sooner or later tonight. Discussing anything to do with politics with your partner is a dangerous game to play. I think the key is to not get angry. Key Note: passionate and angry are not the same thing.

Let's see, what else...
I'm getting a surprise this weekend apparently. Unless it still hasn't come in the mail. Which would suck because that bummed out TJ last weekend. Speaking of, I havn't the faintest what to do for his birthday aside from sex and cake. Anyone else have ideas? Preferrably not costly, and that don't require it to be on his birthday because he'll be out of town.

I think i'm done enough for now. My back hurts and I havn't eaten dinner yet. Plus i'm waiting for someone to call before they go to sleep but I think they already have.

graaaaah

Ok, so I can't manage to equalize the weight of the clothes in the washer and it's driving me nuts.

In other random news: I apparently still own a gigapet. Go figure.

Fucking Mario

I'm sitting here avoiding re-starting the "Flowering Archces" hole, ONCE AGAIN, on the ring challenge in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. See, I shouldn't have started this challenge with Mario in the first place. Don't even ask why I was using him anyway. I'm a Peach person really. The thing is, once you start a challenge you can't use a different player. So now i'm stuck using Mario with more difficulty than is neccesary.

so to Mister Mario I say this. LEARN TO GOLF YOU PLUMBING ASSHAT!

That is all.

Ok, so maybe that isn't all.
I FIANLLY made the cookies. I'm glad that I made them in a bar because they would have been too dry if I had made them in real cookie form. This past weekend was pretty great too. Some movies were rented, as well as a game. This forced us both to sign up for a new Blockbuster card though. Pretty retarded. Oh well, it's probably not the best idea to rent on my dad's account anyway. And it's not like I had my wallet. TJ and I also went over to my dad's to watch the Seattle Sounder's final game played in Montreal. 3-0 Montreal D: I think the worst part, aside from the Sounders losing, was losing to a team with a really retarded name. More retarded than the Oakland Athletics. I can't remember their name at the moment but it's just as stupid as being called the Montreal "Represent". The mall was visited 3 times this weekend as well. Shiney things were looked at, fingers were sized, and a very hot shirt was purchased for Mr. TJ. Pluuuuuuuuuuusssss there was some good sex which included a quickie before the boy left monday morning. :D Good times, good times.
